A loft bed in a sloping roof: How it works

You would like to buy a loft bed, but your bedroom has a sloping roof? That should not be an obstacle! We explain how you can adapt a purchased bunk bed so that it fits into the roof pitch or how you can build a bunk bed yourself. Z Rough sawing

Bunk beds can often be easily adjusted to the pitch of the roof. When buying, you should make sure that the lying surface of the loft bed ends below the pitch. Everything else can be tailored.

If you e.g. If you place the bed with the foot end against the sloping roof, you can simply cut down or saw off the strips at this end until the bed fits the wall into the sloping roof. Ideally, you should saw off the adjacent crossbars at an angle, so that they nestle into the sloping roof like a glove.

The same applies, of course, if you want to put the transverse side of the bed against a sloping roof. Remove the cross bars and saw the head and foot sections at an angle so that they fit exactly into the roof slope.

To prevent the bed from losing its stability, you can additionally screw it to the roof slope and / or the wall.

Build your own loft bed

Use the bevel to create a real cozy corner. hang a cloth over the entire sloping roof and thus completely shield the bed. You can also glaze your children's roof pitch with self-illuminating stars or figures or decorate your own pitched roof with a fairy lights.
